Although there is a curriculum in Flourish, it is much more than an online class. Rather than just passively intaking information, we will be applying it directly to your individual lives so that you can get support in real time, with an experienced teacher and a community of fellow travelers to cheer you on.
Meditation coaching isn’t just an intellectual experience. It is about applying evidence-based wisdom to the fight you had with your husband, or the difficult conversation you have to have with your boss. It is about transforming how you talk to yourself when you fail, and how you find faith when everything feels difficult. Yael will give you the tools, yes, but she will also support you as you try them out for yourself and answer questions along the way.

Previous participants have used the training they received in Flourish and their Certificates in Mindfulness Practice to guide others in their workplaces, communities, to satisfy the requirements for a longer teacher training program and as a CV enhancement.
Jenna S., a University Success Coach, used her Flourish training to guide her students in meditation to help ease their daily stress.
Isabel M., used the training and certification from Flourish to help further her mindfulness credentials. Since Flourish, she has taught workshops using mindfulness techniques to guide others, including a recent gathering of 80 Seattle-based creatives.
Lauren B., After completing Flourish, she was inspired to teach a mindfulness series to the staff of her organization. She also taught mindfulness to the rabbis that she leads in summer programs and in turn they have been inspired to bring the practices into their synagogues as well.

57% of participants in Flourish continued on to participate in meditation teacher training programs. That means that 43% were not interested in that route, and that is completely fine! Flourish can be an opportunity to give yourself the gift of more clarity, ease and joy - a powerful experience in its own right.

About your instructor
Hi! My name is Yael Shy, I’m an award-winning author and CEO of the industry-leading Mindfulness Consulting. I have been featured on Good Morning America, CBS News and in Time Magazine and the Harvard Business Review. In addition to my workshops and individual clients, I consult for major corporations and universities, including Proctor and Gamble, Columbia University, and NYU. Deeply passionate about the transformative power of mindfulness, I have over 20 years of practice experience in Zen, Jewish, and secular meditation contexts.
Why I do this:
Meditation changed my life when I was 19 years old and my anxiety had grown so out of control I was having 2-3 full-fledged panic attacks per week. Social anxiety kept me from making friends, dating or going to gatherings without the excessive use of alcohol and drugs, and yet I was terribly lonely. I never thought I could find a way out of my pain. Through mindfulness, meditation and therapy, I did. Although I still get anxious and lonely, these emotions no longer control my life or stop me from connecting with others or taking risks. It is now my life’s purpose to support others to uncover their inherent worth and capacity for deep joy through mindfulness.
